Nicolás Sánchez-Fuenzalida joined the Translational Psychiatry lab in 2026 as a post-doc. He obtained his PhD at the University of Amsterdam under the supervision of Dr Johannes Fahrenfort and Dr Simon van Gaal. His research focused on consciousness and the measurement of subjective experience. As a postdoctoral researcher, Nicolás will investigate how alterations in cortical processing contribute to schizophrenia, combining insights from animal models with human neuroimaging approaches to better understand the neural mechanisms underlying the disorder.
